Angie Padilla was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. Growing up, music was always in her home. Mrs. Padilla earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education with all level certification at Texas A&M International University in 2005. During her college years, she sang with the mixed choir and opera workshop classes and with the Laredo Philharmonic Chorale. She also taught piano and voice at Elmo Lopez Music Store. On the weekends, she would cantor at San Agustin Cathedral and St. Peter the Apostle Church among others. After graduation, Angie taught at Judith Zaffirini Elementary School (PK-5th) in Laredo. There, she had a choir of over 125 children.
In the summer of 2006, Angie, her husband and daughter moved to the Austin. She taught K-5th grades as the music teacher at Great Oaks Elementary, Caraway Elementary, and at Bluebonnet Elementary where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2017. While teaching in the district, she taught after school piano (MIDI for Kids) and several choirs. Angie received her Kodály certification in 2010 and later her Orff certification as well.
Angie is the assistant director for the Round Rock Orff Ensemble, a performing group for children from 4th to 6th grade. Angie has been performing with the Conspirare Symphonic Choir of Austin under the direction of Craig-Hella Johnson since 2006.
Mrs. Padilla is a dedicated teacher who loves to share her love for music. It is her goal to help children see their potential and reach for it. Her mission is to instill a life long love and appreciation for music and its beauty, while musicianship skills are being developed.Back to Classes & Teachers>
