Austin guitarist and educator Charles Anastasiou has been an in-demand for guitar lessons since 2000, possessing a unique teaching style with an ability to relate to students of all experience levels and ages.
Guitar lessons with Chuck are tailored to each students particular tastes, focusing on the fundamentals of music through songs of the students choice. Handouts, audio samples, and exercises are given pertaining to each song learned, and students may choose to have guitar lessons recorded as a reference during their week of practice.
Having studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Chuck has had extensive training in areas such as ear training, arrangement, solo and group performance, theory, musical technique, composition, and music history. He graduated with a BA in Music Performance and studied with Mick Goodrick, Jon Damian. Rick Peckham, and Hal Crook, among others.
Anastasiou has also been a sought after performer since 2000, playing his solo guitar compositions, and with groups of all styles, such as The Royal Family, The Berklee Joni Mitchell Ensemble, The Charles Anastasiou Quartet, Ripcord. Sugarcoat, Akashic Record, The Velvet Morning, and the Dave Coffin Group. He has also performed guitar or shared the stage with music luminaries such as Al Kooper, Jon Damian, Glenn Jones, Peter Lang, and many others.
Today, in addition to performing, Chuck teaches guitar lessons at the Northwest School of Music for superior drums, piano, voice, violin and guitar lessons in in Austin, Cedar Park and Leander, Texas.Back to Classes & Teachers>
