Brandie Fischkes is a Suzuki Teacher in violin and viola performance. She started violin at age 4 under the direction of Suzuki Teacher trainer Idell Low and graduated all of the Suzuki performance levels 1-10 by age 15. At 13, she became a violinist with American Youth Symphony, under conductor Mehli Meta (Zubin Meta’s father) and has, since then, performed with many symphonies and orchestras as well as festivals and concerts. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance from Loyola Marymount University as a student of teachers Francis Moore and Midori. She has also been trained by great American Suzuki teacher trainers such as Michelle Higa George, Susan Kempter, Nancy Lokken, Terri Einfeldt Alice Joy Lewis and Bill Star. She is a member of the Suzuki Music Association of the Americas and was the string director of Suzuki Music Program for 14 years. She has continued to teach serious students and families for almost 30 years. As a current teacher and performer of Violin, Brandie continues to enjoy working with families who want to start their own journey and zest for a musical life through violin and viola performance.
