Jamie Taylor (Soprano) has a Bachelor’s of Music in Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She studied voice with Gilda Cruz-Romo (Soprano), David Small (Baritone), and is currently studying voice with Nicholas Simpson (Tenor) at Southwestern University.
Jamie has also coached with Maimy Fong, D.M.A., and Kristin Roach of the San Antonio Opera. She has recently performed with the Austin Lyric Opera in Verdi’s* A Masked Ball *and appeared in the Grand production for the G.S.S.A. Summer operetta, *The Sorcerer. *She will be appearing in Spotlight on Opera’s summer program, under the direction of Cindy Sadler, in multiple roles. Jamie speaks fluent Italian and has taught voice lessons since 2004. She got a late start as a singer, beginning her music studies as an instrumentalist, but that experience has given her a love for working with novice singers, both children and adult beginners. She specializes in classical and musical theater repertoire, has a deep love of American folk songs, and enjoys a wide variety of music herself.
Jamie has also worked in Austin radio (KLBJ AM, 1300 AM, Number 9 Productions) and has done commercial voice-over work for the past 10 years, with items airing regionally on Westwood One, Entercom, and Emmis radio stations.”
Today, Jamie teaches both piano and voice lessons at the Northwest School of Music in Austin for quality music lessons by University trained instructors for guitar lessons, piano lessons, voice lessons, drums, violin, ukulele, flute, clarinet, bass in Austin, Cedar Park, Texas.Back to Classes & Teachers>
