Danny Sanchez has been a full time musician based out of Austin, TX for the last 6 years. After graduating from Texas Tech University with degrees in Music Education and Music Performance, Danny spent two years as a musical road warrior traveling across the state performing with numerous bands, teaching drumlines, and private students. In 2002 Danny moved to New York City where he lived and performed for 8 years. During that time he taught lessons out of the historic Hit Factory while maintaining a comfortable performance schedule.
Now residing once again in his home state of Texas, Danny has remained busy while sharing the bill or performing on stage with names known around the world: Florida Georgia Line (Record Breaking Billboard artist) Russel Malone (1999 Grammy Award Winner), Harry Connick Jr., Andre Hayward (The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra), Roy Hargrove, Betty Carter, Eli Young Band (2011 ACA Song of The Year), Christopher Thomas (Joshua Redman, Brian Blade Fellowship), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band) and more!
Danny is also the Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for The Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, and he is the Outreach Coordinator for The Tony & June Project. Both of these non-profit organizations are doing great things for our communities through music and music education!
Whether he is guiding a band or guiding a student, Danny performs at the highest level possible in order to bring out the best in everyone around him, while still improving and evolving in his own discipline.
Danny is happily married to an amazing woman now for 13 years, has beautiful family and friends, two cat boys that he adores, a vast knowledge of The Force, and a strong foundation in Faith … and tacos!
