Anneke Speller began formal music at the age of 5 and studied piano throughout childhood, teenage and college. During high school she won 1st place in the Austin Youth Musicians Competition and 3rd place in the Dallas National Concerto Competition. She entered the University of Texas at Austin on Scholarship and completed her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance in 1984. During her studies at UT, she also studied Voice and Composition. In her junior year of college she entered a national performance competition and won a full scholarship to Sweenlick Conservatory of Amsterdam where she earned an advanced certificate in Piano Performance. She began teaching private lessons in Piano in 1982, and has continued her teaching career in Austin Texas, Bellevue and Seattle, Washington, and Sweelinck Amsterdam.
Anneke has additional teaching experience as choir director/organist/pianist for churches; accompanying for college, high school and middle school vocalists, instrumentalists and choirs as well as Accompanist and Vocal coach for musicals at Lake Travis High School, and various other musical theatre productions in the U.S. and abroad. She has worked as a professional arranger for recording artists in Seattle and Austin and has been employed as a studio musician for many years. She has produced her own music on the Rosier Records label and has had two original pop tunes chart on radio airplay at #34 and #17, respectfully. Anneke thrives at having music in her life and is passionate about teaching Piano and Voice to children and adults.Back to Classes & Teachers>
